A few weeks ago, we asked if you'd walk with us at the St. Jude Walk.

We weren't sure what to expect — this was our first year, and we only had a couple of weeks to spread the word.

292 of you joined Team GeoSmile.

What we did together

• 292 walkers registered for Team GeoSmile

• $820 raised for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital — 82% of our goal

People walked in cities across the country and around their own blocks. Some fundraised. Some just laced up and went. Both counted.

What this actually means

We want to be straight with you about something.

The $820 didn't come from us this time. It came from people on this team who chose to give — many of them chipping in $35 or less, out of their own pockets, for kids they'll never meet.

That's different from our Steps for Hope campaigns, where we cover the donation and you just walk. This time, some of you reached further. We noticed, and we're grateful.

We'll be back

This was year one. We learned a lot — mostly that this community shows up when it matters.

Next September, we'll do it again. And we'll make it even better — something we can be even prouder of.
